Today’s tips and tricks will be short but sweet. As everyone probably already saw, we released a way to filter your games. What you might not have noticed is that the URL changes with every filter. Here are just some of the uses of the unique URLs:

Tips and Tricks: Finding And Making New Friends On Raptr

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

Let’s face it, not all of us are as popular as Claire Bear x3. So here are my tips and tricks to finding friends with similar tastes on Raptr.

Game Pages:
These are gold mines for friends and people to play with for a certain game. First place I like to look is the reviews. If someone spent the time to write a long, insightful review, they probably have played the game for a while.

Next place to look is the players. There is the entire list of people who have played the game. You can just adding friends randomly, or you can look at each person and see if they match using our compatibility engine. (more…)

Tips and Tricks: Hiding Gameplay

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

So you don’t want your friends to know when you’re playing Hello Kitty: Bubblegum Girlfriends, that’s understandable. Raptr has you covered.

Right-click on any game in your Raptr client and select your flavor of hiding gameplay.

You can:

Disable Tracking – Raptr doesn’t  track the hours you play. Perfect for those that want to hide how much time they’ve sunk into WoW.

Hide Game – This will completely get rid of the game from the list and future scans. Perfect for hiding embarrassing games. WARNING: this will permanently remove the game; it cannot be salvaged without a fair amount of work.

Like always, you can go to your Sharing settings and change what to announce to your friends. But seriously, if you are playing Hello Kitty: Bubblegum Girlfriends, tell your friends so they can get you a better game.

Tips and Tricks: Poking Your Friends

Friday, July 24th, 2009

The poke feature is one of my personal favorite things to do with the Raptr client. There’s just something about rolling someone into a Karamari that is incredibly satisfying. For those of you who haven’t checked out this feature yet, here’s how:

Right click on a contact and select your poke.

The result: instant fun! Try them all out!

Like the feature? Let us know! Feel free to suggest your own on our forums.

Tips and Tricks: Chatting With Friends On XBL With Raptr

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

You’re not at your 360, but you want to chat with your friends playing on XBL. Raptr can help and here’s how:

Step 1: Sign into Raptr with your MSN account linked (if you don’t have an MSN account, you have to make one; you also have to connect your Xbox Live account to your MSN – guide here)

Step 2: Your friend logs into MSN messenger on Xbox Live (your friend has to have their Xbox Live account connected to MSN. Don’t know how? It’s on that same guide here)

Step 2.5: If you two aren’t friends on MSN messenger, one of you just has to invite/add the other using the email associated with your Xbox Live account/MSN account.

Step 2.75: Accept friend request.

Step 3: You see each other online and start chatting!
