How To Use The New Raptr Website

What makes the new Raptr.com experience so unique is that your dashboard is now a great one stop place to discover all the best news, info, and etc around the games you care about, in addition to summarizing your gaming activity. No two feeds are the same. In fact, the more you interact with your news feed, the smarter it gets, and the more personalized the experience becomes. This guide will help you effectively use Raptr and become a productive contributing member. Not aware of the new website? Check out the announcement here!

CUSTOMIZING YOUR FEED

Raptr auto-tracks your gaming activity - If you’ve already been tracking your gameplay and achievements with Raptr, you are automatically set up to follow the games you’ve played. Raptr will show you more stories related to games you played just last night compared to another game you played a month ago. Raptr is smart like that! Eventually we even factor in which games you played most recently, so those stories show up more frequently for you.

Follow topics that interest you – Expanded to all things gaming!
You might have noticed that Raptr now tracks topics beyond games! Follow our “LOL” topic for a quick laugh or follow our “comics” section for video games. If you listened to our latest podcast, you might be like us and also fancy following a few gaming music related topics!

Suggested topics - In addition, we crunch some complex mathy stuff to highlight stories that could be interesting to you. We’ll suggest topics to you based on the types of content you interact with, and the types of games you own as well. It’s so easy now to discover the best gaming stuff from around the net.

POSTING, COMMENTING, AND VOTING

Posting content to our site is what makes the news feed so compelling. We want you to find the most interesting stories you stumble across on the net, and share them with the Raptr community. We’re not looking for every single gaming story published each day. We only want the best stuff. These posts then act as a great way for our community to discover new websites they might have never been to before! Also, make sure that you also pick out the most appropriate topics to associate with your post. Keep it relevant! Tagging your story with all the relevant topics ensures your story is discoverable, but be sure that they are relevant. We don’t want to see your Battlefield post in the Call of Duty section.

When submitting content, we ask that you share your thoughts. Keep it fun, colorful, and insightful. It’s your chance to share with all of us a little about yourself, and what kind of gamer you are. For a step-by-step posting guide, go here.

Commenting is all about interacting with the community. Your comments are viewed by everyone who sees that post, so like posting a link, try to be fun, colorful, and insightful. As Raptr grows, we want to continue to infuse into our community a culture that captures all these things. We do have some backend admin tools in place to reduce such issues as spamming, flaming, trolling, “FIRST!”, etc. But yeah, it’s impossible to stop it all. If you see such nefarious activities, please flag the issues, so we can look into it. We’ll continually build our system to be smarter, and have moderators who you can trust, but most important of all, we want our super users to help set the tone.

Voting is your way of making sure the best stories get shared with the most people (RAWR!) We do ask that when voting you factor in the quality and relevance of the story. And of course, if you do find a story that just isn’t up to snuff, it’s time for down vote.

Those are the basics! For more information, head over to our FAQ or for posting tips, guidelines, and rules, check out The Raptr Manifesto. Let us know what you think!
