For our latest Raptr Report we take a look at the immensely popular Halo: Reach. We’re not only sharing interesting statistics about game completion and game time, but also comparing it to previous Halo games – all using Raptr data. From the infographic and data below, you can already see that one thing is clear: gamers are deeply engrossed in Bungie’s latest blockbuster.
Even before Halo: Reach launched, we already had clear indication that the game was going to be a hit. Back on May 3rd, 2010, Microsoft opened up the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta, and as a result, we saw gameplay activity for Halo 3: ODST spiked a staggering +7500% in one day. The reason? You needed that game to play the beta. This spike was even greater than the one during launch, which is unprecedented.
Another interesting fact is how much people are enjoying and completing the game. In less than a week, 37% of gamers had already completed the campaign mission on Normal or above difficulty setting. On top of that, Reach already has the highest overall achievement completion percentage compared with other recent Halo games. Considering that the game takes about 12 hours to complete, we can see that gamers are already spending a good chunk of time in multiplayer, since the average total gameplay time so far is +23 hours. Check out some comparison completion stats for different Halo games below.
On Normal difficulty – 37.35%
On Heroic difficulty – 22.29%
On Legendary difficulty – 11.87%
Halo 3: ODST Completion Rates - Full Lifetime of Game
Normal difficulty – 40.75%
Heroic difficulty- 25.77%
Legendary difficulty – 20.19%
Halo 3 Completion Rates - Full Lifetime of Game
Normal difficulty – 43.21%
Heroic difficulty – 29.25%
Legendary difficulty – 24.55%
Halo: Reach fans clearly love their first person shooter (FPS) games, according to the data below which shows the top games played by gamers who played Halo: Reach. Out of the top 10 games played by Halo: Reach fans, 7 of them are traditional FPS games. What is even more interesting is that more Halo: Reach players own Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 than Halo 3 - suggesting that Halo: Reach drew in gamers that didn’t just play Halo 3 or Halo 3: ODST.

It’s very intressting to see facts like these in comparison to the rest I really like it keep it up!
Wow. Nice. I saw 1up.com talking about Raptr today also. This being the subject
It will be interesting to see what publisher or developer ever takes advantage of the stats that Raptr provide to make better games.
Statistics FTW! I love the Raptr Chiefs. So Awesome.
YES! i knew Halo would dethrone that modern crapfare 2! Reach FTW.
Plants vs Zombies is one the top games? What da…
I’d love to see even more of this. I’m pretty interested in the effects of the Civ V launch this week.
I’m loving the stats! I want more of these to come out when other big hitting games come out, such as CoD: BO! But anyway looks awesome, not really surprising seeing as Halo: Reach in my opinion has the best game elements from each of the Halo games rolled into one neat package. This game is by far the apex of Halo.
Let’s see how black ops will do.
COD is the scum gaming Lolololol reach ftw
Love this game. been playing from the 1st halo.
Some pretty cool statistics. I’d love to see more of these posts in the future! But I don’t usually read the blog. Linking to the article through the newsmail brought me here. Keep doing that.
saying Reach Dethroned MW2 is pretty stupid (or any other game for that matter) since reach had just been released, and its very natural for any big new game to beat out any almost a year old game in terms of hours.
I’ll guarantee Black ops destroys it when its released, not because I think it’s a better game, but because it’ll be new.
@ TheAccursed
You obviously not big on XBL history or knowing much about the developers. Black Ops is a Treyarch COD game and no Treyarch COD game has maintained a top spot on the XBL charts. They pump out second rate COD games by comparison. If this was an Infinity Ward COD game maybe you’d have some credibility. Back to school buddy.
Also don’t be surprised if Bungie lift their current rank cap to coincide with Black Ops release just to steal it’s thunder and XBL playtime stats. You didn’t even think about that did you?

Interesting facts. Reach was the first Halo that i beat on legendary. Frustrating at times, but i love the game.
haloooo
Halo Reach is really great! Beat it on heroic, so there is room for improvement.
