5 Things That Happen Every Blizzcon

After going to Blizzcon for the 2nd year in a row, I’ve noticed some trends (World of Warcraft playtime going down during Blizzcon isn’t one of them!). Here’s 5 things that happen every Blizzcon:

Tickets will be hard to get

The first and second year, you could go a few days after they started selling the tickets and still get a one. This year and last year, you couldn’t go a few minutes. I blame scalpers. Hopefully they’ll do something different next year so you won’t get several thousands of tickets on Craigslist and Ebay.

Lines will be longer than at Disneyland

The lines were deadly. I had a press pass, which meant I could move in front for the demo lines, but all the other lines were just too long. There were even lines getting out of places. Sadly, that will probably never change.

Everything you get will be worth something

There will always be someone, somewhere, willing to pay something for the stuff that you get at Blizzcon. There are still people selling the QQ noobs tissue boxes from Blizzcon last year. If you play your cards right and don’t care about Blizzcon swag, you can probably pay for your entire trip by selling Blizzard merchandise.

You will be touched by someone you don’t want to be touched by

Like it or not, Blizzcon will be crowded. Blizzcon also has some people who don’t practice good hygiene. Put those two together, and you will get touched by someone you don’t want to be touched by. Good thing Blizzard gives hand sanitizer in the goody bag.

Blizzard will blow your mind

Blizzard knows how to create something epic. They will always have great contests, booths, and presentations and their games never disappoint. Whether it be comedian Patton Oswalt or a World of Warcraft expansion that changes the entire game, Blizzard delivers. There’s a reason their tickets sell out!
