Add Your Friends, Invite Friends and Sign In With Facebook Connect

One of the goals of Raptr is to help you connect with your gaming friends.  There’s no better way to do that than to connect you with your Facebook friends that are already on Raptr!

We’re proud to announce today that we’ve launched full Facebook Connect integration into Raptr.  What does this mean for you? It means that we’ve made it easy to answer questions like:

  • What games are my Facebook friends playing?
  • What do my Facebook friends think of the latest games?
  • Who plays games similar to the games I play?
  • Who owns the same games/platforms as I do?

So, here’s how you get started.

If You Already Have a Raptr Account

You can link your Raptr account with your Facebook account in the find friends or account settings page. You’ll be taken through a short authentication process after which you will automatically be connected with your Facebook friends who are already on Raptr.

It gets even better though: if a Facebook friend later joins Raptr and connects their Facebook, you’ll automatically become friends on Raptr. You become more popular without even lifting a finger! If only it was that easy at that last party we went to.

Easy Invites

We sometimes hear you say, “Raptr is really cool. I wish more of my friends were on it.” If you have your account connected with Facebook, you can go to find friends and easily invite your friends from Facebook. We will only send invitations to the people you select.

If You Don’t Have a Raptr Account

What are you waiting for? Creating an account on yet another service can be a pain, we know. That’s one of the reasons we rolled out Facebook Connect. Now you can join and sign into Raptr using your Facebook account without even creating a password. If you’re already signed into Facebook, it could literally be 3 clicks away. Best of all, this also works with the Raptr app.

Where’s the Comic?

You may have noticed that we have a new homepage to go with the Facebook release. We felt it was important to remind everyone just how much you can do with Raptr beyond simply broadcasting your game activity on Twitter and Facebook (although we’re proud of how we can broadcast events as they happen).

New Homepage

Gaming is about more than just what games you play on one console. That’s why we detect across as many platforms as possible and even let you manually set playtime on other platforms.

We also let you share reviews of your favorite games. People know they can trust your review because they can see how long you’ve played the game.

If you want to find out more about Raptr, you might also want to check out our new tour.

As for the comic, we still say, “Hey guys, let’s play a team game!” when we’re getting ready for an afternoon [Starcraft] match at the office.

This feature has been broken since May 2011. Might want to you know, fix it?

I don’t know if you’re ware or not. But lots of people use Facebook…
