Raptr’s Latest Partner, NHN USA and ijji.com

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

Yesterday, we announced that we started a cool new partnership with NHN USA, the company behind the popular free-to-play gaming portal ijji.com and popular games such as Gunbound Revolution, Drift City, Lunia, GunZ, and Soldier Front. In case you didn’t know, NHN USA is a subsidiary of the leading Internet company in Korea (NHN) and operates Korea’s top search portal (Naver) and leading online game portal (Hangame).

Through this partnership, players of these games will be able to sign up for Raptr and get the Raptr client easily. We’re already bundled with Gunbound Revolution and Drift City with additional ijji.com games coming soon.

As we’ve said before, our goal is to make all games more social. Now Raptr users will be able to surface their game play on all ijji.com games as well as discover other people who are playing these games. The Raptr client allows players to feel connected to their favorite games even when they aren’t playing them, keeping players more engaged and encouraging them to play the games more frequently. Integrations with additional NHN USA games will follow in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.

Here’s what Philip Yun, the CEO of NHN USA has to say about our new partnership:

We are committed to providing all players with advanced capabilities to communicate, share, and discover through one another, no matter their location. Partnering with Raptr allows us to promote ourselves through an engaged community of players that are interested in discovering new and interesting games to play. Raptr’s innovative service allows us to do identify and support these players seamlessly with our suite of games.

By the way, if you haven’t been to the ijji.com site or played any of the games there before, be sure to check them out. The site is one of North America’s most popular destinations for free-to-play online games. We hope you enjoy the games!

See you at the party, Richter!

Hi, Raptr community! I’m the new Senior Frontend Engineer on the Raptr team. My name’s Matt Hackett, which I think makes me the 3rd Matt here in the office (feel free to call me Hack or Hackett). I’ll be adding sexy new features to the site and hopefully helping Raptr to become better, faster and stronger for you, our beloved users!

Before joining Raptr I could be found building platform sites for Yahoo!. I have a deep passion for web development, second only to my unhealthy adoration of video games and video game music. In addition to developing ridiculous video game joke sites, I’ve also helped Overclocked ReMix launch a few site projects, and most recently contributed a bit of music to Street Fighter 2 HD Remix.

The Raptr office is really fun and the people here are smart, experienced and overall great people. And we’re still hiring! Check out our jobs page and send us a line at jobs@raptr.com if you think you’ve got what it takes!
